Review: Dangerous Times
Dangerous Times by Phillip Frey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dangerous Times is the story of two men from different walks of life. Their lives intertwine, which could mean danger for the both of them.
This was a really good book full of twists and turns. It was unpredictable, a detail I enjoy when reading. There were times when the added details made for boring reading. I also found myself getting lost in certain spots because of the story going back and forth. Overall, this was an enjoyable book.

Review: The Pigeon King
The Pigeon King by Josh Parsons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The Pigeon King is a book about two young men from opposite sides of life. It talks about the struggles that each young man face in their world. This was a good book. The author gives an accurate account of the life in these two worlds. The book teaches a valuable lesson about life; money does not always equal happiness.

Review: The Hypnotist
The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Hypnotist is about a hypnotist who, after a ten year hiatus, hypnotizes the victim of a crime. After doing this, his life filled with twists and turns. I won this book from the first-reads author giveaway. This book was a little hard to get into at first, but I was eventually drawn into it. Sometimes there were details that could have been left out because it made for very boring reading. There is also a lot of going back and forth throughout the book. Overall, it was a pretty good read.

Review: A Reason to Kill
A Reason to Kill by Nathaniel Tower
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A Reason to Kill is a murder mystery told through the voices of the killer and the detective trying to catch him. I like the fact that the story is told from both perspectives. I enjoyed reading this book.
I only have two negatives about this book. The first is the fact that the reader is left hanging about certain details in the book (cannot go into detail without giving the story away. The other negative is that by the middle of the book I had already figured out who the killer is.
Overall this was a really good book. I would recommend it if you are a fan of mysteries. It is a page-turner.

Review: WITHOUT REPROACH
WITHOUT REPROACH by Anthony James Barnett
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Without Reproach is the story of Jenny and her mysterious inheritance. She goes on a mission to find out why she received the inheritance and who gave it to her. During her journey she encounters Eduardo, a handsome man who is also a mystery. What does he know about her inheritance? Can he be trusted?
Without Reproach is an intriguing story with interesting characters. The scenery is beautiful and makes you want to be there. This is a great read for lovers of mystery and romance. I would love to read a sequel to this book.

Review: Twist Turn and Burn
Twist Turn and Burn by Libby Heily
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Twist Turn and Burn is a collection of short stories. This book is a quick read. I finished it in a couple of hours. Some of the stories are strange, but I suppose that is the purpose of the book. I liked quite a few of the stories in the book but my favorite would have to be Homicide 2040.

Chop Suey: A Darby Stansfield Thriller by Ty Hutchinson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Really enjoyed this book. I liked the element of surprise that the book had. It was not at all predictable. Darby is a great character and it was fun living looking at life through his eyes. Looking forward to reading Ty's next book.

Little Bee
Little Bee by Chris Cleave
Good book, couldn't put it down. When I first looked at the book I thought I would not enjoy it...it did not look like something that would interest me, but I was wrong. My only complaint is I wish it had ended differently....would love to know what happened to her.
